Butterfly Sleet Baby Blanket

Butterflies are nature's angels. Today we are gonna create lot of angels👼

Take a look at this beautiful Butterfly Sleet baby blanket🦋. This is a square blanket with beautiful border. This pattern can be customized to any size.

And you can use this as baby blanket or make it bigger for adult blanket or use this as sofa throw. Anyways butterflies gonna pop up your place.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Materials used:

  • Yarn: Ice Camilla Cotton Magic and Anchor knitting cotton 4057 in shade (104 and white)

  • Hook: (size: 2.5)

  • Yarn needle

  • Stitch marker

Recommended Crochet Supplies:

Abbreviation:

• sl - slip

• ch - chain

• sc – single crochet

• hdc – half double crochet

• dc – double crochet

• tc - triple crochet

• st(s) - stitch(es)

• rep - repeat

• *_* - Repeat stitches inside this star

• sk - skip

Pattern:

ch 4, sl st in 1st ch and sl knot (forms ring)

round 1: ch3(always counts as 1dc), 15dc in center ring, sl st in ch3 st to join.

round 2: ch3, 1dc in same st, ch2, 2dc in same st (forms corner), *1dc in next 3 st(s), [2dc, ch2, 2dc] – in same st* rep this till row end, sl st in ch3 st to join.

round 3: sl st, sl st in corner, ch 3, 1dc in same corner, ch2, 2dc in same corner, *ch6, sk 7 st(s) below and in next corner – [2dc, ch2, 2dc] * - rep this till end, sl st in ch3 st to join.

round 4: sl st, sl st , ch3, 1dc in corner, ch2, 2dc in same corner, 1dc in next 2 st(s), *ch6, sk 6ch(s) below, 1dc in next 2 st(s), corner: [2dc, ch2, 2dc] , 1dc in next 2 st(s)* - rep till end, sl st in ch3 st to join.

round 5: sl st, sl st, ch3, 1dc in corner, ch2, 2dc in same corner, dc in next 4 st(s), *ch3, tc in round 2, ch3, dc in next 4 st(s), corner: - [2dc, ch2, 2dc]* - rep till end, sl st in ch3 st to join.

round 6: sl st, ch1, 1hdc in corner, ch2, 1hdc in same corner, 1hdc in each st – till end, sl st in 1st hdc to join.

round 7: Like round 3: ch3, 1dc in same corner, ch2, 2dc in same corner, {*ch6, sk 7st(s) below, 1dc in next 7 st(s), ch6, sk 7 st(s) below *} – rep this until you reach corner. Corner: [2dc, ch2, 2dc], sl st in ch3 st to join.

round 8: Like round 4: work same as round 4 pattern

round 9: Like round 5: work same as round 5 pattern

round 10: work same as round 6 pattern

Continue this until you reach desired blanket size

Border:

round 1: *1dc, ch1, sk1 st and 1dc in next st* - rep till corner. In corner: [*1dc, ch1* - rep 3 more times] and again rep 1dc, ch1, sk1 st and 1dc in next st, at last sl st and join {In this round you will get slots}

round 2: 1sc in one slot, ch4, 1 sc in next slot- rep this till corner. In corner: [1sc, ch4,1sc, ch4 1sc] – rep this in all corners. sl st to join {In this round you will get slots}

round 3: 1sc in one slot, ch4, 1sc in next slot – rep this throughout this round, sl st and join

Rep round 3 & 4 as many times as you want.

Note:

  • In each row: Position of butterfly will change and number of butterflies will increase.

  • Always start from corner when starting a new row

  • If you want simple border, work dc on each st throughout the round.

Voila!!! Cozy!!! Your blanket is ready !!!
